The enforcement team of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, on Tuesday, conducted a special drive to remove wrong parking of vehicles from footpath and grounds in sector 17 and removed 17 four-wheelers and 20 two-wheelers.

Keeping in view the road safety measures, MCC has started drives to remove illegal parking of vehicles from roadside and grounds from June 18. The special teams of enforcement wing have been formed to remove these illegal parking throughout the city.

Meanwhile the MCC has also started dumping the impounded vehicles at multi-level scooter parking. In the absence of the designated place the MC use the public parking place for keeping to vehicles.

Sharing the development, Municipal Commissioner KK Yadav said to ensure road safety, special teams of the enforcement wing had been formed to stop people from parking their vehicles at unauthorised places throughout the city.He appealed to all city residents to park their vehicles at authorised lots to keep roadsides clear for uninterrupted movement of traffic.While talking about the anti-defacement drive and illegal hoardings in the city, Yadav said the MC teams were removing illegal hoardings and advertisements, which distracted commuters. The MC teams have been asked to take action against violators with the help of the local police. “They have been told to lodge complaints with the police against those responsible for defacing public property,” added the Municipal Commissioner.

Six cars removed from roadside in Sector 17

Swinging into action, a team of the enforcement wing of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation removed six cars parked by the roadside in Sector 17. The Municipal Corporation also registered cases against Dr Lal Path Lab, Sector 16-D, and Connect Broadband under the anti-defacement campaign.
